Mammals
There are approximately 5,400 mammal species, ranging in size from the 29–33mm Bumblebee Bat to the 33m Blue Whale.
Mammals are air-breathing animals, characterised by having hair or fur. Females possess mammary glands, which are used for suckling their young.
At Hoo Farm we have over 75 different breeds of mammals ranging from Star the Shire Horse all the way down to Hector the Dwarf Campbells Russian Hamster.
